【摘要】:1Thisguidecoversproceduresforusingradiation-sensitiveindicators(referredtohereafterasindicators)inradiationprocessing.Theseindicatorsmaybelabels,papers,inksorpackagingmaterialswhichundergoavisualchangewhenexposedtoionizingradiation(1-5).2Thepurposeforusingindicatorsistodeterminevisuallywhetherornotaproducthasbeenirradiated,ratherthantomeasuredifferentdoselevels.3Indicatorsarenotdosimetersandshallnotbeusedasasubstituteforproperdosimetry.InformationaboutdosimetrysystemsforradiationprocessingisprovidedinotherASTMandISO/ASTMdocuments(seeISO/ASTMGuide51261).4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappro-priatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplica-bilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.note:2Theboldfacenumbersinparenthesesrefertothebibliographyattheendofthisguide.
